Flower Essences: Introduction to Long Life Happy Life Flower Essences, From Cindy Black, L.Ac
The idea to make these essences “occurred to me” while I was resting and reading out in the yard one day as I was longing for the peace and solitude of deep Nature. All of a sudden an idea seeped into my being to make flower essences from the plants that were surrounding me right here, in my garden. It is possible to know Nature right here, right now, in suburbia. I looked around, and there was bougainvillea beaming at me, “yelling” at me to appreciate all that was already present around me. In that moment, I made my first flower essence from the bougainvillea.
I picked flowers from each plant and placed them in a bowl of water in the sun next to the plant. At the end of the day, I took a long sip of water, now infused with the essence of that plant’s flowers. Every time I did this, I had my journal ready, and allowed the impressions from the plant to come through me and into written words.
What follows are the “messages” or impressions from each plant. It seems obvious to me that the plants are eager to share their wisdom and grace with us. I hope you enjoy these essences and expand your own personal insight, wisdom and healing as you use them.
Using Your Flower Essences:
Flower Essences lend themselves to intuition. When choosing which essence or group of essences to use, I follow my intuition completely. You may want to try that, or you can read through the descriptions for each essence and find one, or a few, that seem to address your concerns.
Following your intuition can look like simply sitting near the bottles and letting your hand be drawn to a certain bottle(s). Others like to use a pendulum. Let yourself experiment with different ways of choosing.
There are no hard and fast rules to choosing essences. Perhaps the main guideline is to follow your intuition as completely as possible.
